The highly anticipated 4th Annual Turkey Giveaway organized by the Flowers Whiting Initiatives is on the horizon. With a steadfast commitment to serving Baltimore City's vulnerable families, we're embarking on an ambitious mission to extend a helping hand to those directly or indirectly impacted by the criminal justice system. Our vision encompasses not just distributing turkeys, but also fostering a sense of community and support during these challenging times.

Central to our initiative is the establishment of a strategic distribution hub. This hub will serve as the epicenter for providing nutritious turkeys to families residing in areas categorized as food deserts. These underserved communities often struggle with limited access to quality food, making our endeavor all the more crucial.

As we approach the holiday season, our goal is to ensure that every family has the opportunity to partake in a wholesome Thanksgiving supper. To achieve this, we've set our sights on distributing a range of 200-350 high-quality turkeys, complemented by hot meals that not only nourish the body but also warm the soul.

However, executing our vision involves more than just the provision of food. Transportation logistics are paramount, and we're accounting for the cost of renting a Uhaul truck to seamlessly transport the turkeys from our depot to the distribution site. This intricate process ensures that our efforts culminate in a smooth and impactful event.

But we recognize that our aspirations require the support of a collective effort. We're reaching out to our extensive network as well as the broader community to rally behind our cause. With a target fundraising goal of $6,000, we're aiming to secure the necessary resources by November 18, 2023. This ambitious endeavor will allow us to serve multiple Baltimore communities in time for Thanksgiving on November 23, 2023.
